(Updated 10/11/23) This year marks 125 years of Phi Kappa Sigma at the University of Maine. You are invited to celebrate our chapter’s historic anniversary at Homecoming, which will be held Oct. 13-15, 2023. Below you will find a schedule of events, information on how to obtain tickets to the dinner banquet and football game, and information on how to reserve a hotel room.

Schedule of Events

Friday, October 13

5:30 - 7:30 PM: 125th Anniversary Dinner Banquet
Join alumni, undergraduates, and guests for appetizers, dinner, and a cash bar while we celebrate 125 years of Phi Kap at UMaine. Alumni from each decade from the 1950s to present will speak briefly about their time at the house. Dinner includes Mediterranean chicken, beef tips, vegetable napoleon, green beans, mashed potatoes, and a tossed salad. Drinks and desert also available.
Location: Black Bear Inn, 4 Godfrey Dr, Orono, ME
Cost: $20 for Voting Members, $30 for all other alumni and guests (must purchase by Sep. 28)

8 - 10 PM: Live Band (12/OC) at Kanu (***CONFIRMED!***)
Thanks to alumnus Dennis Shea '84, one of New England's fastest growing bands (12/OC) will be performing at a local night club for Phi Kaps (and the public) to enjoy!

Saturday, October 14

9:15 - 10 AM: Light Breakfast & Skullumni Annual Meeting
Join alumni, undergraduates, and guests for a light breakfast while Skullumni conducts its annual business meeting. At this meeting, alumni will hear updates from the Alumni Chapter and Undergraduate Chapter, and vote on Skullumni's annual budget.

10 AM - 1 PM: Tailgating at the Football Game
Alumni and guests will pre-game with drinks and shenanigans leading up to the annual Homecoming football game.
Location: Morse Field Parking Lot *** NEW - Since the undergraduates cannot formally organize events, tailgating may not happen. A group of alumni may organize on their own ***

1 - 4 PM: Group Seats at Football Game (UMaine v LIU)
Alumni and guests will enjoy seats in Sec F on the 50 yard line as the Black Bears take on the Sharks of Long Island University. Tickets purchased through Skullumni are cheaper than if purchased day of at the gates and are in a better location. Tickets are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. *** NEW - Pick up tickets in the Acadia Room at the Black Bear Inn during Skullumni's Annual Meeting, NOT at the Chapter House. ***

Reserve a Hotel Room(s)

Unfortunately, the deadline has passed to reserve one of the rooms booked by Skullumni at a special rate for alumni. Although hotel rooms in the Orono and Bangor area are scarce for Homecoming weekend, some may still be available so check with individual hotels or use your preferred online booking company.
