Become an Alumni Volunteer

Phi Kappa Sigma Membership Expectation #11 of 12
I recognize that my responsibility to Phi Kappa Sigma does not end upon graduation and I will always support the Fraternity to the best of my ability.
(Excerpt taken from the "Skull Sessions" new member manual.)

There are many ways for Alpha Delta alumni to volunteer their time.  Whether you're interested in helping to enrich the experience of the current members of the undergraduate chapter, help plan alumni events and keep them connect - or both - there is an opportunity perfect for you.  We are seeking alumni from all eras to help out in one (or more) of the areas listed below.  And with the advent of conference calls and the internet, Brothers from around the globe can volunteer their time for Phi Kap.  So no matter how much or how little time you have, we'd love for you to get back involved in your Fraternity!

Current Volunteer Opportunities

1) Become a Skullumni Officer - The alumni chapter is current seeking a Treasurer.  As Treasurer, you will be responsible for oversight of the annual Skullumni budget and preparation of the follow year's annual budget.  Please email us if you are interested or have more questions.

2) Become a Member of the Housing Corporation - The House Corp is responsible for overseeing the chapter house in Orono, Maine.  From getting contractors in to make repairs and ensure the house is up to code, to collecting rent from the undergrads, to overseeing the educational fund that awards over $10,000 in scholarships annually to chapter members, you will play a vital role on this important entity.  The House Corp meets a few times per year (mostly via conference call) and there is some work in between meetings.  Please email us if you are interested or have more questions.

3) Become a Member of the Chapter House Renovations Committee - Since 2004, a group of alumni have been setting the stage for the first major house renovations in over half a century.  Be a part of a group that meets monthly (mostly via conference call) and you'll be able to: discuss the needed repairs for the house; help with fundraising ideas and solicitation of donations from alumni; work with alumni, contractors, undergraduates, and the university to enact this major capital campaign; and be a part of something that is vitally important to the future success of our chapter.  Please email us if you are interested or have more questions.

4) Serve as a Chapter Co-Advisor - One of the most hands-on and effective ways you can be involved as a Phi Kap volunteer is by serving as a chapter advisor.  As one of a handful of advisors, you will attend some of the undergraduate meetings and share your insights and perspectives on their activities, guide their current officers and help them set and achieve goals for the year, serve as a sounding board when questions/problems arise, and help in the leadership development of young men.  It is preferable that as advisor you live within a two hour radius of the chapter.  Please email us if you are interested or have more questions.

5) Volunteer for Phi Kappa Sigma International - Visit their website at www.pks.org for more details on how you can get involved in Phi Kap on a macro level.

ONCE A PHI KAP, ALWAYS A PHI KAP!
